By Car
Driver's licenses from all countries are valid in the province
for up to three months. Proof of insurance must also be
carried, and you must wear seat belts. All highway signs in
Alberta give distances in kilometers and speeds in kilometers
per hour (kph). The speed limit on major highways in 100kph
(62 mph). Contact the Alberta Motor Association (AMA). Alberta
Motor Association for help with trip planning, maps and road
conditions.
Regulations
You must have proof of ownership for your car and any
trailer you are hauling. If your vehicle is rented or
borrowed, you should have permission to use the vehicle and/or
trailer.
