Alberta Film respects your ability to make informed choices about the collection and use of your personal information.

This information is only obtained if you supply it voluntarily by sending e-mail or completing a form on the site. Providing information on online forms is always voluntary, and you are free to decline from completing them. Any personal information you do provide is managed according to the Alberta Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy (FOIP) Act and other applicable legislation. We collect only information that is necessary for the operation of the web site and the provision of requested materials to you. Further, we keep the information only for the length of time necessary to fulfill the purpose for which it was collected.

Information Collected on Site Usage
When you visit this web site, the server automatically collects a limited amount of information. This information helps in the assessment of information services and used only for that purpose. It is not used to create individual profiles nor is it used for commercial marketing purposes. It collected in compliance with section 32(c) of the Alberta FOIP Act.

This information includes:

The page from which you arrived,
The date and time of your page request,
The internet domain name or IP address your computer is using to receive information,
The type and version of your browser, and
The name and size of the file you request.
Your Internet domain name or IP address, may identify you depending in large part, on the naming standards followed by your internet service provider. You may wish to inquire about their policies and practices in this regard.

Email and Forms
If you choose to provide us with personal information — as in an e-mail to someone else, or by filling out a form with your personal information and submitting it to us through our web site — we use that information to respond to your message and to help us get you the information you have requested.

We treat e-mails the same way we treat letters sent to the Alberta Film. We do not collect personal information for any purpose other than to respond to you. We only share the information you give us with another government department if your inquiry relates to that department.

We do create individual profiles with the information you provide from forms for the purposes of developing and improving our services but we do not give any collected personal information to any private organizations. Alberta Film does not collect information for commercial marketing.
